Ariam Shed is a community workshop where old furniture gets a new life and local residents get hands-on skills, creativity, and connection. Join our upcycling sessions to repair, repurpose, and reinvent discarded items, all while having fun, learning new techniques, and helping the environment.
Open to everyone, our workshops are about more than furniture: they’re a space for creativity, wellbeing, and building a stronger, connected community.
Come along, get involved, and see what we can create together!
April is our pilot phase, starting with 3 workshops (dates and times TBC), where we will fix and transform two found chairs into armchairs using cardboard and papier-mâché!
From May, the workshop at Clements House, Tottenham, will be open one day a week, from 10 am to 5 pm. Early projects include an upcycled pinball machine for fundraising and promotion, alongside furniture and object upcycling.
Adults of all ages from the local community
Anyone interested in practical making
People looking for connection and community
Those who want to reduce waste and learn repair skills
Every year, thousands of tonnes of furniture are discarded in the UK. Upcycling keeps materials in use longer, reduces carbon emissions, and builds local resilience.
But just as important: making things together improves wellbeing. Ariam Shed is about practical action and human connection.
